The Restoration Begins

Up to now it has been a case of tearing down but the 'Hand in the Pocket' time has come.

Although this is a building of prime historical and emotional importance to Gorlestonians it's restoration is being carried out at the personal expense of Jim Groarke.

Now Jim has the bricks, repairs to the walls can now begin. What is left of the original roof struts. Before this job is over the cement mixer will have earned it's keep. Close up of original mezzanine floor before it was removed. The poor state of repair of the upper walls is clearly visible. Orginal mezzanine floor supported by Acrow Prop.
